The track provides cutting-edge knowledge and tools via a combination of theoretical and practical study, and trains students for leading management positions in various sectors of Israeli and global industry. The track encompasses all areas of classic management training, and equips students with both theoretical models and analytical tools alongside practical methodologies and tools for immediate implementation in today’s rapidly-changing business and technological environment.

MBA Specialization Tracks

Our unique and flexible MBA program focuses on the management of technology-intensive and knowledge-rich organizations, covering a broad range of issues related to management, and with a particular emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship.

We aim to prepare our students to become the leaders of tomorrow, able to help their companies navigate the rapidly-changing technological demands of the global marketplace and to thrive in the era of “big data.” Thus, the William Davidson MBA offers a choice of four specialization tracks, in addition to the General MBA track described above. These are: (1) Big Data and Business Intelligence; (2) Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management; (3) The Azrieli Start-Up MBA; and (4) Life Sciences MBA.

Students in all tracks must complete all 30 academic credits from mandatory core courses, with the required project focusing on the area of the specialization track. In addition, of the 20 credits from elective courses, at least four courses must be taken from a selection offered for the specialization track.

This track allows students to specialize in business data analytics, which involves managing and utilizing the big data accumulated by organizations.

The success of companies and organizations is increasingly dependent on how well they manage their databases and use their data for various purposes, as well as on their performance in the field of electronic commerce, which encompasses online marketing, sales, purchasing, and financial activities. Managers with a background in these areas are thus much in demand. The track focuses on methods and tools that help managers improve business capabilities via big data analysis and the use of electronic commerce. It is suitable for students with prior experience in programming.

Students on this track must complete all 30 academic credits from mandatory core courses, in which the required project will focus on data mining and/or e-commerce. Of the 20 credits from elective courses, at least four courses must be taken from a selection offered for this track.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship track is designed to train managers for start-up companies and knowledge-rich and technology companies competing in the global marketplace. The track trains students to lead and manage entrepreneurship and innovation, both within existing organizations and in new enterprises, with an emphasis on identifying opportunities, fundraising and resource development, intellectual rights management, negotiating, and managing the innovation process from identifying an opportunity or challenge through to bringing the product or service to market.

Students on the Innovation and Entrepreneurship track must complete all 30 academic credits from mandatory core courses, in which the required project will focus on entrepreneurship and/or innovation. Of the 20 credits from elective courses, at least four courses must be taken from a selection offered for this track.

The Azrieli Start-Up MBA track is for students who are interested in setting up or developing a technological venture. The main goal of the program is to provide the students with management tools and an understanding of the processes involved in launching a start-up company, and to help them develop entrepreneurial ways of thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

The program serves as an incubator for developing deep technologies and implementing them in businesses. Every student is assigned an academic tutor and a business mentor. Studies are held on Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings; on other days of the week, students work on developing their ventures.

Students on the Start-Up MBA track must complete the 30 academic credits from mandatory core courses, in which the required project will focus on developing their start-up enterprise. Of the 20 credits from elective courses, at least four courses must be taken from a selection offered for this track.

The Life Sciences MBA program allows students from Biology and other life sciences fields, to specialize in managing and leading life science organizations and ventures.

The track focuses on methods and tools that help managers improve their business capabilities. The emphasis is on identifying opportunities for implementing discoveries in basic life science and implementing them in the business arena. The program suggests courses on regulations, fund raising, intellectual property, negotiation, quantitative tools for Life Science, as well as knowing the global eco-system, all applied for the Biotech business world.

Studies are held at the Technion campus in Haifa on Thursday afternoons (2pm to 9.30pm) and Friday mornings (9am to 1.30pm). The program is spread over nine mini-semesters of nine weeks each, for a total duration of 21 months.

Students on this track must complete all 30 academic credits from mandatory core courses, in which the required project will focus on the life sciences. Of the 20 credits from elective courses, at least four courses must be taken from a selection offered for this track.
